Before Pinterest, Tumblr and any other micro-photo sharing sites – Flickr was the main source for photo lovers and enthusiastic to share their photography with the world. The Flickr pool has grown with 56 different libraries, groups and museums after their launch of Flickr Commons on Jan 16 2009. Now the Yahoo who owned the Flickr celebrating 250,000 images in their pool. We are going to feature some 10-15 old vintage photography here, like war photos or epic history moment.
Even though this medium was used by millions, mostly the bloggers used to host their images for their site or blogs. Remember there are some limitations in free account. The Flickr is best known for it’s embed images in other networks. An image hosting and video hosting website with online community that was created by Ludicorp in 2004 and acquired by Yahoo! in 2005.
Resource for Flickr Commons and Photo Collections
The resource are created by thousands of people, at first it started with only 1500 images. After the yahoo brought it, the Flickr expanded rapidly.

Flickr Commons asked Commons member institutions to send links to a few of their most viewed or favorite images to create this gallery. Now with the submission of large number of photos, they decided to use multiple groups to feature. So you can submit yours.
